12″ block crochetalong – March
The March crochetalong block is the Cygnus square. I’ve continued using Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply cotton, with a 4.5 mm hook. In blue (Maritime):
and in lime (please try to ignore the shadow of the dodgy photographer):
But let’s not forget the multicoloured acrylic (or maybe we should):
My squares are all working out to be 9 inches square, not 12 inches – I should probably change the name of the crochetalong on my blog!
Mum has finished knitting my Ixchel angora/merino socks. She thought that they smelled like rabbits. Not surprising!
Yes, we know that the stripes don’t match across each sock – but they’re so comfy and warm! Clare is also enamoured with the socks Grandma knitted for her (I think that the yarn is Opal).
Hey, those blocks are great! And clever mum with the socks!
It’s funny you mention about your mum and the smell of rabbit – when we were driving in Qld over Christmas, Mr QM would sniff the air as we passed a farm and call out “dairy” … “rabbit problem” … “dead horse” . I think it comes from being a farmer’s son.
As for singing, I hope you haven’t given it up! There is a choir very near you called “Northern Voices”. I think it’s in Northcote and they might meet on Sunday night? My friend is or was in it and she raves about the conductor! He sounds like a nice fellow.
They look so cosy
I love croquet…. This block is gorgeous!!! I love the bendigo woolen mills cotton yarn that you used for the first one..
Beautiful squares! I love the green color. That would make such a beautiful afghan. The socks are so cute! The pinks ones are perfect for your daughter.
What great socks. It will be interesting to see how all your squares come together- particularly the multi-coloured ones.
Love the pink socks
