Clare’s abigail dress

You expected this, didn’t you?  You know my propensity for using the same pattern for both my daughters.  Or else you’ve been stalking my flickr stream and have seen it already.

At least I didn’t use the same fabrics for both daughters (this time). These are all from Spotlight, and vary a little in weight and quality. I’m not super keen on that shade of baby pink, but Clare chose the fabric combination and is happy with it.

I used the size 7 of the Abigail pattern for Clare (who is now almost 8 and a half years old).  I’d say that these patterns run fairly true to average sizes.  My girls are short. Like mother like daughters! As with Stella’s dress, this should fit Clare for a couple of years. I can let the sleeve hems down quite a bit, and she can wear it at tunic length once she’s taller.

Great pattern – easy to construct, comfortable, versatile.  Dress length or tunic length, short sleeves or long sleeves, and you can have lots of fun with the fabric placement and combinations.  Highly recommended (and don’t be surprised if I resurrect it again for summer dresses in a few months time).
