waiting
My brother Ross and his wife Donna live in Cairns. They are currently in a cyclone bunker that Donna’s parents built into their house, also in Cairns. It’s an anxious wait to see what happens when Cyclone Yasi hits. Please keep the people of Queensland in your thoughts and prayers.
ETA – Ross and Donna and their families came through the cyclone well – everyone is okay, no house or car damage, still to check out the boat. Lots of damaged vegetation, and a very sleepless, scary night. It looks like Cairns was well prepared and very, very lucky.

I am holding your family tight in my thoughts Lara. xxx
Sending safe thoughts!!
oh Lara, thinking of you and yours- and all those in what must be a terrifying wait xx
Thinking of your family too, Lara. May they all stay safe tonight. xx
My s-i-l, niece and the other granma are sitting on the hill in Townsville waiting. She says all will be well as they have enough wine, chips and chocolate to get them through 😉
Other brother has had to stay w patients while his wife and 4 chn evacuate to Melb.
Have been watching ABC 24 hr news all morning. This waiting game is no fun. Hope all of yours stay safe.
I’ll be thinking of them and all the others bunkered down in FNQ Lara – I hope they stay safe.
Take care. x
I’m sat here in Canada watching the news – there’s the cyclone in Queensland which must be terrifying and this terrible winter storm that’s now crossed the US border and is hitting us hard now. The weather has gone crazy. Thinking of everyone affected.
In our prayers they’ll be… and you too!
Kind thoughts sent your way.
So glad everyone is ok. Thank goodness.
So glad your family is safe, Lara. So far everyone we know is well also.
