December practice squares
Whoops, I forgot to post my Kaffe Fassett Around the Block practice squares before the real ones done for Sheridan! Part of the reason is that I was so keen to get stuck into the fabrics she’d sent me that I actually did the practice squares after doing Sheridan’s…
I did have to do more maths to make my squares 12.5 inches (that’s the size I’m working on for all the Kaffe practice ones I’m doing). No major mistakes though, and these are the squares I ended up with.
Working with such a riot of colour and pattern can be a challenge but it’s a welcome education. I’m mainly using scraps and random fat quarters, so this quilt will just evolve over the course of Around the Block. Who knows how it will end up!
Wow Lara – that is an explosion of colour – reminds me of the crochet squares you did in the variegated – the eyes don’t quite know where to focus LOL.
Love how you’ve fussy cut the centre squares for the first and second blocks. The designs look like they have flowers and leaves peeking out of windows!!
i love his fabrics. Do you mind me asking how much you pay for a fat quater? The blocks look great i`m determined to learn to quilt this year.
