Around the Block – December for Sheridan
Yes I know, it’s mid-January, and I’ve only just finished my December Around the Block squares for our wonderful bee hostess Sheridan. I was very thankful for having January as a catch-up month! Sheridan had sent us a beautiful group of green and grey fabrics, with instructions to make blocks that were all about squares and symmetry. Because the fabrics were so appealing I made four blocks – I couldn’t bear to not use any of those marvellous prints!
I found this such a restful, relaxing yet refreshing palette to work with. Thanks so much Sheridan! It was also fun working out how to do each block. I have started drawing up what I think I want to do on paper then doing the maths to figure out what size to cut each piece so that I’ll end up with the correctly sized block.
I’m working hard at the moment to finish off incomplete tasks, while interspersing a few new things to keep me fresh. 2010 will be the year of completing all projects and not overcommitting to new ones!
Each one I looked at was another “WOW” those colours and prints work so well together …. loving it!
Let me know how that last sentence works out for you! Ha! YOu are a creative genius and if you are like me your mind works overtime thinking of colors and shapes and projects…. 🙂
The blocks are bea-u-ti-ful!
I loooove light green (see yesterday’s comment), and so these fabrics delight my heart. You have made lovely blocks with them. Great job!

They look fabulous. I’m all for finishing projects this year as well.
I love the way you put the border around the tennis court, lovely. I too am enjoying Block heavy by being involved in a quilt along!

They are gorgeous Lara, and the colours are beautiful, kind of surprising how great grey and green look together – good choices from Sheridan.
Those are nice. Love the colors.
