Louise chose vibrant fabrics for her blocks, and asked for log cabin-esque blocks that were improvisationally pieced but with logs that were parallel and perpendicular. My first block:

It’s great seeing the block evolve as I go, rather than having a predetermined plan. Although I do find my practice blocks a handy reference!
I’ve been busy chopping up fabrics to send out for November – yes, it’s my turn to have everyone make blocks for me! Yay! These are the fabrics they’ll be working with.
I’ll be sending around six of each fabrics to each participant, and I’m asking for whirling things and pointy things, as inspired by my Flickr gallery. I’ll make a couple myself as well – time to do some searching for appropriate block templates! Paper piecing, here I come.
