Clare’s new dressing gown
Occasionally it happens – I blog it, and then I do it! As promised, over the weekend I made Clare a new dressing gown from one of last week’s vintage patterns.
When I pulled the fabric out I realised that it was more a peachy pink than apricot. Clare decided on the plain fabric for most of it, with the tiny white dot for the cuffs, collar and pocket tops. The fabric is a beautiful quality fleecy-lined stretch, originally from June’s stash. I suspect it was bought with the intention of making a coordinated tracksuit, since there was also matching ribbing.
It’s still a little big, but not drastically so. The fabric was delightful to work with. And it’s so snuggly! Clare is very pleased. I intend to hand-sew the collar into place a little more, because at the moment it doesn’t sit as well as I’d like it to. But overall – a success!
Holey moley you were quick. I only cut mine out last night and in nap time was able to overlock the sleeves into place. It will be a couple more nights until I have one finished!! It looks great.
Oh I love it, yay for vintage dressing gowns. It looks so warm and snuggly too.
This is so lovely Lara!
I think a wash will be very kind to this garment, increasing the cosy look and feel.

So sweet! I have the very same thing to do to my daughter’s dressing gown – hand stitch the collar down. That’s all that’s left to do on it. It’s an Enid design too and pink like yours!
fantastic! it looks super cosy & you are a great job (as always) lara!
is the spot a knit too?
That looks great well done
Very Pretty Lara – I made little tiny dressing gowns like that when mine were small
It looks fantastic, you have done a wonderful job. Hopefully the size will see her through next season too.
Lovely gown! (And so much nicer than my daughter’s Disney Princess one!)
