Clare’s new dressing gown

Occasionally it happens – I blog it, and then I do it!  As promised, over the weekend I made Clare a new dressing gown from one of last week’s vintage patterns.

When I pulled the fabric out I realised that it was more a peachy pink than apricot.  Clare decided on the plain fabric for most of it, with the tiny white dot for the cuffs, collar and pocket tops.  The fabric is a beautiful quality fleecy-lined stretch, originally from June’s stash.  I suspect it was bought with the intention of making a coordinated tracksuit, since there was also matching ribbing.

It’s still a little big, but not drastically so.  The fabric was delightful to work with.  And it’s so snuggly!  Clare is very pleased.  I intend to hand-sew the collar into place a little more, because at the moment it doesn’t sit as well as I’d like it to.  But overall – a success!
