If I blog it, maybe I’ll do it
The next sewing project – once we’re back from Cairns, and once I have purchased a new zipper foot to replace the one that Stella has hidden somewhere in the house where I will clearly never find it:
The long-sleeved version, to be made below knee length, with the vest in maroon. It’s all cut out, ready to be assembled – but history has shown that it can take a little while before construction takes place. Fingers crossed! The vintage pattern came to me courtesy of Floss; the fabric is from Spotlight (I think? Could have been Lincraft…)
I had a dress just like that! In about, oh, 1977…
Boy do i know that feeling. So many projects cut out ready to go. I tell myself if I get the prep work done, then sitting at the machine and finishing will be quick stix…….it’s the sitting down, that takes so long to get around to. ( :
The pattern and the fabric are gorgeous – I hope you sew one up to show us soon! (no pressure of course….)
Everytime I read one of your posts I wish I had a little girl to sew for again. But all she wears are trackies, sweat tops and trainers. Sigh… Pretty, pretty fabric.
I love that fabric. It reminds me of the floral one I bought from Ikea for the single bed wishing I could find it in stores. At least you’re not like me, got a pattern traced but never actually getting around to cutting and sewing.
There was something (a toy maybe?) that one of our boys lost when he was little. We figured he’d thrown it in the trash. A few years later we found it again – it was a good laugh. I surely hope your zipper foot turns up soon – before you head out to purchase another.
