Time for Brown Owls again last night! This time the fabulous Kirsty had come up with some tin can craft. We did some embroidery to make pencil cups.

Oh looky, I finished the project! We discovered groovy dissolvable interfacing-like stuff to help with doing the embroidery, and groovy paste-like stuff for attaching our embroidery to the cans. And groovy rotary cutting blades that automatically pink the fabric as you cut! Lots of fancy fun crafty things. As always, Pip, Brooke and Jess looked after us all and tidied up after us. I also had the pleasure of meeting Bronwyn for the first time – I have been reading her blog for some time now and love her work. She is just as delightful in real life as she seems on her blog! Some of the other gals on my table were Cam and Cindy, who competed to see who could do their embroidery with the most care and delicacy, and Steph (she of many blogs – I’m never certain which to link to) who managed to do lovely running stitch along the top of her embroidery and embroider the word “pencils” as well, without having to write it down first! Thanks for a very relaxing evening everyone. There are some more photos here and here.
This little birdy has finally been embroidered and assembled.

The kit is from Jodie, she of the quirky and clever ideas, and of course the famous selvedge frock.
