Spring swing

The weather was divine today – I like spring almost as much as I like autumn!  Warm days, cool nights, the smell of jasmine and barbequeues.  After a hectic morning of running Clare from a post-6th birthday party sleepover to Bollywood dancing class to a 6th birthday bowling party (wow, the social lives these preppies have) the girls spent the afternoon in the backyard, mainly on the swing.

For a long time we thought that Clare was going to be an only child.  It is so precious to see her with little sister Stella, playing together, helping her to swing.  Stella climbed up onto the swing herself, with Clare watching over her.  After swinging they slid down the slide together, over and over, Stella climbing up the slide the wrong way to meet Clare at the top and come down together.  I am so lucky to have my beautiful little girls.

I’ll finish off with a quick progress shot of Mia’s quilt.  It still needs wadding and backing.  Although it’s far from perfect, I think it will make a nice baby gift.

Oh, the outfits that the girls are wearing in the first photo?  Made by me!  Clare’s dress always gets positive comments, Stella is wearing hers for the first time.  It’s very satisfying to see them in clothing I’ve made with love.
