Made’n’Thornbury
Clare and I went to a delightful little community market on Saturday, the Made’n’Thornbury market. There are photos over here and here and here. There was a lovely community atmosphere, face painting and a craft table for the kids was provided free of charge, and the stall holders showed off their creativity with original, crafty wares. A few bits and pieces came home with me:
A Luckie (collage kit) from Tinniegirl, a flower brooch kit from CurlyPops (Clare began assembling it this afternoon) and a beautiful bowl from Finki. I met some people whose blogs I read, my bag was recognised by another clever blogger/crafter (and therefore my identity was revealed!), and I even ran in to Nikki, Leah and Ann-Marie. I think it’s time to organise a Melbourne Northern Suburbs (and further afield, if interested) blogmeet. Any takers?

I came home with one of those beautiful Finki bowls too. They’re amazing.
As an ex-Thornbury-er, and one who is not *too* far further out now, yes, I’d love to be in that 🙂 The market looked great – illness prevented me from making it, sadly.
You know me… always in for a cuppa and a chat… or a spot of crafting… whatever.
ooh looks like a wonderful day! I would’ve loved to come along nad meet some more bloggging peeps but we had friends over for lunch vistiting from the UK. A crafty gathering would be amazing!

the bowl is like the ones the neighberhood Ladies Aid group made—from greeting cards and crochet together–This was when I was a little girl, my mom used her for her hair curlers.

Oooh. You did do well yesterday. I love those bowls. The collage kit looks really interesting too. The market was fantastic. The kid’s acitivities were fantastic. I think a Northern Suburbs blog get together is a great idea.
Count me in Lara – I’m not exactly Northern suburbs but it’s not that far away.

I have seen the very old fashioned sewn boxes etc in op-shops but not in great condition – I love the idea of modern pattern and picture – will have to hunt out this Finki girl. I just won a Lucky box from Tinniegirl – what are you going to do with all of the papery goodies? What about not-so-Northern-bloggers? Could there be a chair for us?
Oh yes, Northern Bloggers Meet sounds wonderful. I’ll help you organise it if you like.
I’ve been thinking about some projects for the Luckies too so I might have some ideas and inspiration for you soon.
