Cup day skirt
The US presidential race wasn’t the only race happening on Tuesday – there was also the Melbourne Cup of course! And for me the race was to get this skirt made for Clare before Stella woke from her midday sleep.
I used the last of the scraps I had from the top and dress I made a couple of weeks ago to eke out a matching skirt for Clare.
I made up the pattern. The skirt is gathered onto the elasticised waistband – which works particularly well if the skirt is fuller than this one, as it reduces bulk a bit around the waist while still providing maximum twirlability. I did take some photos during the construction of this skirt – would anyone like a tutorial?
Would love a tutorial. Beautiful skirt and daughter 🙂
That one is not as pink as usual lara, but she is still smiling – perhaps you’re winning…
Its a beautiful skirt. And the twirlability sounds very promising – a vital factor in skirt success! I’m hoping to do a little bit of little girl sewing for Christmas, so would absolutely love a tutorial.
yes – i love a good twirl skirt – thanks
Yes please…I know a little girl who would love a twirly skirt for Christmas
Clare is adorable in that outfit. I’d like to invite her over for tea and then hug her until outfit is wrinkled. Great job mama!
