Revamping hard rubbish

Although we’re not meant to leave hard rubbish out on the nature strip where I live (you’re meant to book a collection with the local council) people often still do.  Thankfully!  One of my friends knew I was looking for toys for the cubby house, and spotted a doll’s change table on the nature strip nearby.  Hubby was there quick smart with the station wagon to collect it.  Sadly I didn’t take a before photo, but rest assured that it was absolutely filthy.  Lots of scrubbing, disinfectant and a new change mat and seat later, we had this:

The fabric is vintage drill that originally belonged to my aunt.  Since we now had a change table, we also needed some nappies for Clare’s doll.  A quick google search for a doll nappy pattern and an hour at the sewing machine later we had this:

And since then Clare’s doll has been doing this:

The box in the bottom right corner is actually the “woshign msheen” for the nappies.  This toy is a complete hit!  Thanks so much Jane for letting us have this hard rubbish treasure instead of keeping it for your three gorgeous girls!
