vintage crochet Friday #96
Mother/daughter and father/son outfits are a recurring theme in the world of vintage crochet and knitting. As much as I seem to dress my two daughters in similar outfits, when it comes to mother/daughter I’m not so certain (you’ll be relieved to know). Maybe if you have a figure that is similar to your child’s it might work. It wouldn’t work for me.
Would it work for you?
As always, captions welcomed!
This has to be late 60’s early 70’s. Can’t think of a caption, quite frankly I can’t think any guy would have worn that. It’s hard enough to get them into a sweater let alone a sleeveless top.
Wow. It reminds me of the movie Twins, when Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are walking in the matching suits.
That’s one sexy man, and his son’s hair is fantastic…

well, I did have a pair of platforms, in a camel coloured suede. like those in pic#1, the year was 1974.
I would love to see what Father and Son look like today. Cracks me up. I actually think the Mom/ Daughter outfit could be adapted … the top would make a good start to a dress and the pants might (might!) work for yoga.
I need to get better at coming up with captions to contribute!!
As to the mother/daughter outfit, I would think that a young girl (under 8) would be thrilled to have an outfit just like Mommy. I would make her feel so special.
