We’re back!
We’re back! It’s been marvellous to have time off away from home as a family. Although I had to work one day between Christmas and New Year, Mr T and the girls stayed in the country with my parents. Last week we headed up into the mountains.
There’s nothing quite like an icy cold mountain river! I remember spending many hours as a child playing in the same river, making dams, floating down it, playing in the currents and rapids.
The children had a ball – our accomodation had mini-golf, a ropes course, a pool, tennis courts, playgrounds, a huge lounge area, a tarzan rope, and the river just behind it. And there is a lot to be said for picking your own blackberries – and for eating lavender ice cream.
Mostly we lazed around. I read an entire novel, finished crocheting one cardi, and started crocheting another. And the kids just played, played, played.
A holiday away in the country really is good for the slightly jaded soul.
But now I’m back, with a sewing/crafting/crocheting/blogging vengeance! Ha ha! I still have another three weeks off work (hooray! although I do enjoy my paid job, annual leave is a wonderful thing) and my mental to-do list has been growing. I’m behind on blog posts and have a few things to show off, so stay tuned!
Sounds like you had an awesome time
Happy New Year! It sounds like a wonderful holiday. Isn’t it lovely seeing the kids play themselves into happy exhaustion? Can’t wait to see what you have lined up for us. I have a few quieter weeks ahead as younger children go back to daycare and only the eldest is home until school starts – I’m hoping to reduce my list of “quilts to be made” during that time… but we’ll probably just walk down to the beach instead. 😉
Welcome back! Looks like a lovely holiday. Your girls have the cutest bathers – but where are you in your handmade beauties?!
Enjoy the rest of the time you have off.
Welcome back, lovey! Fab photos of what looks like a perfectly relaxing time. Looking forward to catching up before work/school starts again – xxn
Looks like a great time!!! the girls dresses are really cute… I’ve always wanted to pick my own blueberries and have lavender icecream!!
Happy 2011!!!!
Welcome back Lara – Lovely photos of the girls. Glad you had a good rest. We’re heading off for family time at the beach on the last few days before the bell rings.
