Is your apple cosy?
Is your apple cosy? Our apple is!
I hooked this up when I was away with my book group the weekend before last. I’d taught them to crochet when we were away last year. Although most hadn’t picked up the hook again since, they were all keen to give it another go. Sally wanted to make an apple cosy, so I crocheted one alongside her. It’s based on a pattern in a recent issue of Crochet Today! The other women were very sceptical about the reception that an apple cosy would get from any of Sally’s three sons (aged between 8 and 12) but guess what? They love it, have been taking it in turns to use it, and now she has to crochet another two. Clare loves hers as well. Who’d have thought it.
This is very cute. I have been looking around for a pattern. Is this pattern available as a freebie since you based in on another? Just wondering. Always good to know.
Oh how cute is this. I have about 6kgs of apples still in my fridge from apple picking a few weeks ago. It might take me awhile to make enough crochet covers for them.
I love those apple covers Lara, yours looks great.
Dare I ask……why?
Oh, coincidence – we were just talking about a knitted one at our knitting group last week – nice to know there is a crochet pattern.
I would find it handy as I often cycle to work and my lunch box gets a bit of a battering!
Oh Lara, that’s so funny! I can’t believe you’ve started a crfty trend amongst boys – well done you!
HaHa, this is way too cute. As a former apple grower, I did laugh, imangine all the apples snugged in their sweaters in the bin. But seriously the cosy would keep an apple from being bruised in the lunch box. How about one for Pears, too?
