Lavender Tunic

See what you can do with 2.5 balls of Patons Smoothie DK and a few crochet hooks and a pattern? Make a child’s tunic!

Lavender Tunic

The pattern is the Pretty Pastel Tunic by Nicki Trench, from Inside Crochet Issue 7, April/May 2010.  It’s such a pretty design, but be warned if you are planning on making it that there are quite a few errors in the pattern and you need to check all the comments on the  Ravelry Project Page before you start (as well as the Ravelry forums).

I spent ages trying to decide what buttons and ribbon to use, and after trying out a few options I returned to one of the first combinations. It’s not perfect but it’s okay – I was trying to use what I had in stash and didn’t want to go out and buy anything new.

As usual, I pulled out five or six rows of the skirt when I realised that I’d somehow missed out one row of the repeat. I always have to do some unpulling and re-doing when I crochet something! It’s all worked out in the end though.

She’s wearing it!  And YES we finally have a government!
