Crafting with the kids
Clare was given this beautiful book for Christmas.
She quickly decided what her first project would be, and drew up a design on paper. Buttons and fabric pens and a few hours later, she’d decorated a t-shirt.
You guessed it though, I was the one who had to sew on the buttons. Stella didn’t want to be left out of the action so dived into the button bag and came out with lots of teapot buttons in a variety of colours. So yes, I sewed them on too. Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike sewing on buttons?
Both girls were very pleased with the finished result.
Probably as much as I detest sewing on buttons!
The shirts look great.
Loving the rainbow tea pots!i hate sewing buttons on too!
I love seeing kids craft and have fun. I really like the button in the centre of the sun 🙂
A couple of junior designers in the making. So cute.
We have that book and the girls have made heaps from it. I love the t shirts – very colourful!
Oh she’s done a wonderful job, so creative. I love the buttons.
ooh, I bought hat one a while ago, haven’t used it yet, good inspiration!!
Miss Clare certainly has great crafting flair!
I really love those teapot buttons…
Not only did you sew the buttons but (gasp!) you even individually matched the thread! I hereby bow before you…
Oh, I brought my daughter the same book along with a sewing basket filled with goodies for her birthday last month…although she hasn’t ventured into making anything quite yet. It’s such a lovely book!
Your girls did a great job, love the tea pot buttons!
You need a Bernina Activa PE230. It sews buttons on for you! I use mine for button sewing quite a bit!
Lucy got the same book for Christmas – it’s great isn’t it?
I am hunting tea pot buttons like the one you have on your shirt. Do you remember where you gor them. Thanks Kathy
