Grade 1 done and dusted
That’s it, school is all over for another year. Clare has just found out who will be in her class next year, and she’s not with her “school best friend” who she’s known since infanthood and has been with through kinder, grade prep and grade one. However, she’s dealing with that okay since she is in the same grade as her “home best friend”. But today, the final straw – her new teacher “is a boy, not a girl”. Devastated. But my first thought?
“Oh no, what will I make for the teacher gift next Christmas instead of a bag”?
Oh, I just saw somewhere in blogland….someone made gorgeous presents for male teachers. Let me see if I can find them….
Here!

Haha, I would think exactly the same thing! I can’t beleive this year has gone so quick, can you? Mine’s happy with her class, and teacher, I just want to relax now!
My sons male teacher got a bag. I hope he liked it
A manbag?
PS – Thankyou so much for the lovely bag of fabric – I’ve been meaning to email you all week to say thanks and I just kept forgetting! Merry Christmas.
Men need bags too!!!! My hubby ( a teacher) I’m sure wouldn’t say no to a bag as long as it didn’t have flowers all over it. The gift of the week so far here has been a full size decorated Christmas fruit cake! Personally I like it when the kids give him chocolates. :0)
LOL! How about a laptop sleeve – that’s still a bag but a very manly one! or there was a lovely men’s satchel in the first edition of Stitch magazine.
Here’s a sewing idea for a guy.
years ago my great aunt Omah(owner of the Workbasket magazine) asked my husband and my brothers for some old jeans. For christmas they got them back as a pieced and tied “Quilt” to be used as a ground cloth. For guy stuff like changing oil & working on in their trucks. No kidding my DH still has his!
