A weekend away
What a wonderful weekend I had in the countryside with the girls from my book group. Everyone learned how to crochet a granny square, but I think that Rebecca summed the weekend up best:
My dears,
The husband almost appeased, the dog brushed, and the children quiet. And I think fondly – longingly – of uninterrupted moments of crochet and talk.
Thank you all for coming, and the wonderful conversation, crochet, and book talk (sorry ran out of alliteration) that ensued.
And one of the added advantages for me was that to teach each one how to crochet a granny square, I was forced to crochet lots of demonstration squares, so finished off a cushion front.
By the end of the weekend I felt truly refreshed.
Sounds heavenly!!
Its looks like it was a wonderful weekend!
How divine 🙂
Hi, a long time lurker here. Love your workmanship and attention to tiny details. How wonderful are the Lucia books! I reread the whole series periodically and still laugh aloud at Lucia’s snobbery and eternal efforts to best the evil Miss Mapp. Have you ever encountered the TV series? apparently made in the late ’80s, you have reminded me to trawl the internet searching for a DVD copy!
Sounds like a great weekend! Glad you passed on the granny square love. Like Susan above, I have de-lurked to comment on the sight of an EF Benson book on your table. I looooooove the Mapp & Lucia series of books, have read them all. I also enjoyed the TV series, though the second one not so much as the first. Love seeing your creativity each week – thanks for sharing!
What a fun weekend! The granny squares are so lovely!
