Larger Than Life bag still in progress
I have finally finished the sides and bottom of the bag, and have attached them to the front and bag panels. The crochet part of making this bag is now complete!
This was really difficult to photograph, but these should give you an idea of how it is coming along. This bag is HUGE! Now I need to line it. What colour fabric should I use? I’ll make padded handles from the same fabric for it, and do lots of interior pockets. This will be my first effort at fully drafting a lining myself. But don’t hold your breath!
I love your bag!!! You have done a fantastic job so far!!
OK, on the color of the lining. WHITE OR LIGHT (maybe pink or pale yellow)! This way you can see inside it~ Just an idea.
Can’t wait to see it finished!
Love the crochet Lara – gorgeous and very clever – let it do the talking by having something very plain for the lining maybe – just an idea…..
Well done that is beautiful -such lovely fresh colours! Anyone who can crochet properly gets major cudos from me- I’ve barely mastered the simplest stitch. As soon as I’ve learned, knitting or sewing happens and then it’s clean flown out of my head. Oh for half a brain some days.
Ooo lining- I’d do a very pale plain lilac like in the top photo which is surrounded by the pink yarn. Then being me I’d add small pockets in the more dashing yellow orange and turquoise for all those bits that would get lost in the bottom of the bag. But that’s just me I’m sure you have oodles of brilliant ideas. Can’t wait to see it further along. Well done for getting this far it must’ve taken you yonks!
