book week
It’s book week in Australia, and all over instagram there are photos of frantic costume making. I am no exception. The parade is on Friday, so this week I am working on Clare’s Eowyn costume. Just a zip, hems, an undershirt, and another lower sleeve to go. Somehow I only cut one lower sleeve, and I’m out of fabric. Stay at home dad has a trip to Darn Cheap ahead of him today….
That is fabulous!
Beautiful work! My 16 year old Clare is going as Lockie Leonard, all board shorts, thongs and zinc cream on public transport to an all girls school! It’s great when they do the work.
Wow – that’s a great costume! I escaped book week costume making, as usually it went like this: Me: come on, we need to leave in 5 minutes. 10 year old boy: I’m looking for a pink t shirt. Me: you don’t have a pink t-shirt. All your t shirts are black. Why? Boy: It’s book day today and I’m a little pig/ hobbit/ wizard/ spider etc.
Or, like this: Me, at school gate: Hey, that kid looks like Aragorn. And there’s harry potter. Him: oh, maybe it’s bad hair day. I thought it was next week.
Anyway – Eowyn is gorgeous and lucky to have a mum like you!
More fun than the supermarket! Costume looks great! Benefits of Mums who sew!
Oh I hadn’t seen the underskirt – lovely Lara – can’t wait to see the whole outfit.
I am super jealous of her Eowyn costume! I never had anything so cool when I was at school!
Oh that is amazing! Bet she is very pleased!
