another repeat – Nigella and Go To
So, here’s another repeated pattern – the Nigella tunic, made twice before here and here.
This was one of those times where I was glad that I’d kept fairly comprehensive online notes about the pattern, including the order of construction. I reprinted the pattern and cut it out a size larger than previously, and added significant length to the cuff pieces. The fabric is more of the floral Liberty cotton/spandex jersey that I bought tat the Alannah Hill outlet, paired with a plain khaki viscose/spandex jersey.
Clare is rather fond of the bubble hem that this tunic has. I rather like it too! But it’s definitely a length that requires leggings. Enter the Go To Leggings pattern and more of the floral jersey.
Once again, this is a simplest leggings pattern ever. One pattern piece, sew up the inside leg seams, the crotch seam, fold over the waist and make an elasticised casing, and hem. Too easy!
That’s it for recently sewn knit dresses for the girls – but I do have a couple of woven ones to show off in my next blog post. I have been busy at the machine and overlocker lately with more knits for myself too. Once again, I need to keep the blogging up to pace with the sewing!
She’s you all over again Lara. Beautiful!
Pretty fabric! I love the leggings pattern too – just so quick and easy.
Love that fabric (and the outfit). Bea is wearing her top in the liberty floral today. Off now to make a muslin of the Victoria Blazer…
I love the mix of fabrics you’ve used Lara and I think the bubble hem looks fantastic. It’s a great little outfit.
Also loving the fabric, such pretty flowers. I’m curious to know if the leggings are comfortable and allow lots of movement? Thinking of making some for my two lasses.
Really lovely Lara – I love a bubble too.
