Elle and Ivy
Yes, more StyleARC. These were finished when I was at Sewjourn in May, but I’ve only managed to get some modelled photos recently. So finally my blog photos have my current hairstyle! You’ve seen the Elle pants a million times before on my blog. They really are my go-to pattern for skinny pants in stretch woven fabrics. So this time I tried them in ponte. And of course, they were a resounding success.
The printed ponte is from Darn Cheap Fabrics – it’s Prada, apparently! They have some other designs in stock, and I am sorely tempted to purchase more. There’s not a great deal to say about these – slim pants, loose enough not to be leggings, but tight enough to show the shape of the leg. Separate waistband with elastic inside. Quick, comfortable (that must be my most overused blog word) and in this print, fun!
Trying to use up some of the larger leftover pieces in my stash, I made an Ivy top to coordinate. The orange is wool jersey left over from an earlier top, and the grey rayon marle has been used in a few different items. This t-shirt has a few points of difference. The shoulder seams are slightly forward, and the side seams angle to the front. The description from the website: This is the “T” shape of the moment, features the new angled design lines, dropped shoulders, curved hemline and cuffed ¾ length sleeves. A must have piece for your wardrobe. Splice it up to create your own look.
I finished the curved hemline by securing with Vliesofix, then twin needle stitching in orange. I like the contrast of the orange on the grey.
I also twin needled in orange around the hems and waistband of the pants.
It’s way too cold now for a short-sleeved top without a whole lot of layers under and over it, but I know that this outfit will get lots of wear when we have in-between weather again. As usual when sewing StyleARC patterns, I sewed the pants in size 10 and the top in size 12.
Now my orange toned clothes all coordinate with my hair…
Love the pants and your hair looks amazing!!!
Love it- the boots and fun and edgy too-
Great matching on the trousers. The whole outfit is very cool.
DCF is always on my must visit list to Melbourne. I have my own myki card.
What a great outfit Lara – the top is fabulous and a perfect match for the pants.
