2011 wrap-up #2 – crochet
When I look at this mosaic I am quite impressed at how much crochet I got through in 2011, particularly at the number of garments. And there were all those berets I made! I still think that I could crochet one of those in my sleep.
I do have some crochet goals (not resolutions!) for this year. One of my Christmas presents was a set of tunisian crochet hooks. I’d like to learn this technique, and maybe give another new technique such as broomstick or hairpin crochet a go. I’ve already begun on my BAMCAL, and look forward to seeing how it evolves over the course of the year. And of course, every year I put “finish Clare’s wool-eater blanket” on the list….
Tunisian crochet is heaps of fun and easy I’m sure you will enjoy it. Just use a slightly larger hook than the wool calls for. I found it worked better and the crochet wasn’t as tight. Hair pin crochet is fun too. Different fun and you have to turn your hair pin the right way but once you master it it’s easy. Enjoy all your crocheting – it’s lovely to see what you have achieved.
I love Tunisian crochet too, and usually go up 2 sizes in hooks. Wow, you’ve done so many great projects in 2011! Happy New Year.
All of your work is beautiful but your crochet has inspired me to take up the art. I already sew and knit but this year I am turning my attention to crochet 🙂 I have signed up for the BAMCAL, so here we go! I look forward to seeing how your squares turn out! Happy New Year to you and thank you for continuing to blog and share with us. I check in here daily.
