New Look 6334
Stella was SO excited when she spotted this fabric in Spotlight. So in a moment of weakness I bought it, then turned it into a nightie when I was away at Sewjourn. I hated every moment of sewing with it and don’t particularly like to look at it, but Stella LOVES it.
Yes, a nightie made from slippery polyester satin with Dora printed all over it. The pattern is New Look 6334, which is actually rather sweet.
It’s when I make things that don’t particularly fit my aesthetic but I know that they will love that I feel like I’m really being a “good” mum. What about you?
I get the same feeling when I feed my children. Not my first choice of action but it makes them so happy.
😉
I totally understand. I had to make ‘princess’ jammies for my daughter. It was the only thing I would agree to use the fabric for.
Yup, same feeling for me. And that is a different type of joy altogether.
Yep, I recently made Willow some PJ’s for the same reason. I really didn’t like the fabric, but she chose it & loves the PJ’s. Willow would go crazy for this nightie, she loves Dora.
Bonus Mummy points for you Lara!
Lara LOLOL 🙂 I feel the same way too. Have had a few garments that I sewed up but my reaction was the exact same as yours.
I know a little girl my house who would love that. We are currently arguing because she want to wear her summer Dora dress to Charlotte’s communion on Sunday
Yep. Big “GOOD MUMMY” points!!! If it makes her happy and involved in the making, then it’s worth the pain of sewing it.
I know what you mean. Sometimes you just have to give in to the polyester!!
I was thinking that you were such a good mum – keep them happy that’s what I say.
I totally get this Lara – I made the girls PJ’s once out of some Dorothy the Dinosaur flannel, I felt like I had sold my soul to the devil but they loved them!!
I’m such a meanie of an aunt that I declared my house Dora free when Miss 3 stayed with us a few weeks ago and i realised her only item of non Dora clothing (cute little brown and white spotty tights) were actually Dora branded and had cost over $20!! CRAZY! but I probably would make her something with this fabric if I saw it at my spottie.
