I’d like you to meet Rosie. She’s been Clare’s constant companion since her 2nd birthday, and sleeps with her every night. Clare finally decided that Rosie needed some new clothes.
So last time we were at Spotty Clare pored over the pattern catalogues and chose Burda 7753 to make a new outfit for Rosie. I did the pinning but Clare did all the cutting out and sewing.
Other than a little help with the gathers and sewing on the button, Clare has pretty much made these herself! She is so proud, and so am I. She’s also posed and taken the outfit photos – making sure to get a photo of the back as well, of course.
Clare made the jacket first, and was so pleased with the results that she decided to make a coordinating dress as well. The fabrics are soft stable Michael Miller knits. Clare handled these well – so those of you who are afraid of sewing with knits, if an 8 year old can do it, so can you! Just choose a nice stable knit to start off with. Next up for Rosie will be a hat – the weather is very cold at the moment!
