oi
For some reason I’ve begun to say “oi” whenever I want to get my daughters’ attention (usually when they are doing something wrong or ignoring me). What is with that? I’ve never said “oi” before. But over the past few weeks it has sneaked into my vocabulary. It does usually seem to get a response. But for how long? And do I sound like a bogan?
Ahem…. you may have picked it up from me…?
It is definitely a standard call in our house. I have tried paring its usage back a little since I heard Pr.C-W using it on her brother.
LOL… I love oi. We use it all the time. 🙂
oi you…that gave me a chuckle. And, if you were wondering, you’re in fine (bogan?) company because I have my ‘moccies’ on as I type…
oi is “hey” in japanese :p
