vintage crochet Friday #83
It’s vintage crochet Friday again, and it’s my fourth bloggiversary. This is post number 974 – I’d hate to add up how much time I’ve spent blogging over the past four years! I’ll plan a little giveaway for post number 1000, I think. But back to the vintage crochet! Since I’ve been blogging for four years, I thought that today I’d share four photos.
First, from a Golden Hands special, early 1970s:
There’s so much that could be said about that photo! Maybe it needs some captions – any creative minds out there? Next, a mother/daughter number, also early 70s.
A beach cover up, early 70s once again:
and since we’ve had a mother/daughter outfit, here’s a father/son one to finish off.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
How awesome is that 70’s hair? I quite like the little beach wrap, I must admit.
“I’ve decided to do Egyptian this year” ?
#1. The shoes, the hair, the skirt! What more can I say?
#2. How is showing off your middle ‘semi-formal’?
#3. I would totally wear this!
#4. hahahahahahaha
#1. Thanks, Grandma! I’m sure nobody at college will have anything like this!
I love the very first image! I wish I could pull it off myself.
Congrats on your bloggiversary.
Congrats on 4th anniversary!!!
I really can’t see any boys or men wearing those vests though
Ummm… I’m saying NOTHING about that mother and daughter pic… but the boys look like they’re politely smiling and saying, “Do you feel as ridiculous as I do?” through gritted teeth.
What;s with the fish tank? And the mother-daughter midriffs- who knows a teenager than would wear the same style as their mum? Embarrassment! And I agree, the beach wrap is kinda groovy, over jeans as a top would be nice. A custom order, Lara? teehee
having been a teen in the early ’70’s,……yup
happy blogiversary!
xo
My suggested caption for picture #1 “Look, afghan and got myself a new skirt”.
Regarding picture #2, aren’t the words “semi-formal” and “midriff” mutually exclusive?!
Wow! I have to admit I cringe a little at these photos. The first one looks like an outfit that Chloris Leachman would have worn playing Phyllis on the old MTM (Mary Tyler Moore)show. Pardon my ignorance — do you/did you get American TV shows where you are?
Four years…yay! Congratulations are certainly in order. I do like the beach coverup.
I am new to your blog. I found it last night through At Second Street when she linked to your yo-yo shirt. (So cute, by the way!)
When you post these vintage crochet photos, do you also have the crochet patterns for the items? For some odd reason, I really *really* like the beach cover up and would like to try and make it. Do you have the pattern?
Thanks! I’ll be checking out your blog lots now!
