Maya tops and skirts
It’s the Maya dress pattern again – this time in yoga skirt and short sleeved top versions. A set in size 2 for Stella:
and a matching set in size 6 for Clare!
Honestly, the girls WANT matching outfits, I’m not forcing them upon them! Fabrics are all from Spotlight. They’re all used up now too. Enough Maya skirts/tops/dresses for a little while! I’m over sewing the little ruffles on the front. By the way, I use a slightly different construction order than in the instructions for the neckband. I join both shoulder seams, seam the neckband into a circle, divide both the neckband and the neckline into quarters, match them at the marked quarter points, and then seam the neckband to the top using the overlocker. I left off the topstitching throughout as well.
And the reason my sewing output has been a little prolific lately has been due to watching the first season of Buffy on the DVD player/TV set in my sewing room while I sew. How did I ever miss this series when it originally aired? I collected the second series from a friend this week – it might inspire me to finish quilting the wedding quilt.
ah i love buffy!
one of my all time faves, and they only get better as they’re going along 😀
Your girls look so adorable together. Love the outfits too. I’m struggling to find nice things for my daugter and I wish I could sew well enough to make some.
Hey Lara, love the outfit.
I have the pattern in store and also some lovely knits from Michael Miller,
just waiting for my mum to return from os to make me some samples. She is the queen of kids clothes. Now I am so glad you like Buffy! One of my favs, my cats are called Buffy & Willow for a reason. Try and get your hands on Angel next. It’s a spin off from Buffy!!!!!
They look great Lara
I have tons of TV series still to catch up on and find them a great help when tackling lengthy projects (that and audiobooks and podcasts, lol)
Anyhoo, these outfits are adorable – the girls look so cute in them!
And when you’ve caught up on Buffy and Angel, you have to check out Bones!
The outfits are SO cute on your girls! I remember when my mom used to make matching outfits for my sister and me! They were alike enough that we loved it, but individual to us. (I wonder if she did that to make laundry easier…) Anyway, she’d often have two types of fabrics and two patterns and make Fabric A with Pattern 1 and Fabric B with Pattern 2 for her and Fabric A with Pattern 2 and Fabric B with Pattern 1 for me. We loved it!
Now, I just stick with crocheting. Maybe that’s why I don’t have a daughter because I don’t have a sewing machine to use for making adorable things. 😉
Buffy gets better although I didn’t like season 5 so much. You might like other Joss Whedon TV like Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog.
