A New Look at some more Jalie
I made three dresses a fortnight ago! And lucky me, I had enough fabric left over to cut out three sleeveless tops for summer. So here’s the first one – New Look 6470, view B.
You don’t get much easier than this! Two pieces, with the cowl self-lined. I made the size 12, which is pretty snug – I slowed down on my gym routine over winter and it shows a little.
Then there’s Jalie 2787. I’m really getting my money’s worth from this pattern!
The construction is all done with the overlocker and hems with a twin needle on my regular machine. It gives a nice finish but wouldn’t a coverstitch machine be lovely!
Gee, you really don’t get much styling with these photos, do you! No lipstick, hair barely brushed, no accessories – but I have to make the most of having a willing photographer whenever one is available! Lastly we have Jalie 2804. I’ll start with the back (see what I mean about a little snug after winter):
I pretty much used up every scrap of each fabric to make these tops! I know they’ll all get lots of wear. And with no sleeves, they were super fast to make.
In constant awe (all the time) of your productivness (not sure that is a word!).
Looks like you are now ready for Summer!
Great tops, they look awesome! And the prints are flattering. You sure don’t look like you’ve been missing the gym!
Oh Lara, Ms Productive, you are set for summer, they all look great.
The look great and they all suit you really well
Clever you! Snugness is better than floppy and frumpy – I’m so impressed by all I read about Jalie – I’m so stuck on the only one I have for tops – too good!
They are all fanstastic – I just got that bottom Jalie pattern in the mail. I se myself making a few of them this summer.
Lara, they are all fantastic I love the cowl top…and you look great too, dont stress.
Mass sewing is definitely the way to go for simple clothes patterns. I never get around to making myself clothes because I figure it’ll take too long, then I go and sew eight skirts in a week to sell. I could make myself two years’ worth of clothes in a week if I simply allowed myself the time!
I think all of these tops are GREAT! You are very inspirational – what sort of fabric have you used? I am very new to sewing and don’t know my fabrics very well yet and mostly have to ask when buying…
Hi
I love the fabrics you have used in your tops, are you able to tell me where you purchased the fabric from?
