Poncho and hat
Last week I crocheted Clare a poncho. Then on my way to work and home again I crocheted her a hat. I love the train/tram commute!
The poncho pattern is a free one available here (Ravelry link). I used Spotlight Yarn Bee bamboo ribbon with a 6.5mm hook, and added a chain drawstring around the neckline and a flower. I did modify the pattern a bit to start off with 64 fsc rather than a chain of 112 stitches.
Clare had been having a playdate at a friend’s place before these photos were taken – her cheeks do look much rosier than usual since they were putting on makeup for “rock fashion parade”. I finished the poncho off with a shell edging rather than a fringe, and used the same shell edging to finish off the hat – you can find the hat pattern here – it’s the Lacy Shell hat.
Cute! And look at her skirt!!!
Clare looks so cute in her poncho and hat. I love the hat. I think I’ll try to make it for myself.
Thank you for all your wonderful crochet patterns/links and projects, I love seeing them all. I can’t wait to see what you complete next!

What a beautiful little face she has. xx
That’s lovely. Love the colours too. My mum made us ponchos when we were that age too, they are such a good item to have.
Ah, just think of all the twirling Clare can achieve in that poncho! The hat is super cute too. Looks like an easy one. Must add it to my faves. 🙂
