My creative space…
Today has been a bit all over the place. I work (paid work, not the unpaid domestic work at home) on Monday and Wednesday, so find that Thursday can be a little disjointed and often a little hectic. I tend to be trying to catch up on the things I haven’t done earlier in the week that by now are screaming for attention. I write a very comprehensive list! But today I haven’t really maintained focus. I slept in rather than going to the gym – too dark, too cold! Did the folding but not the ironing. Had a cuppa after school drop-off with some of the other school mums. Took Stella to Gymbaroo. Wandered around the local shopping centre getting gifts for the myriad of birthdays that are occurring over the next few days. Came home and looked at my creative space.
Well illuminated by the Ott-Lite that was a birthday gift from my Mum and Dad is a pile of stuff waiting to be sorted. Vintage buttons, recently purchased, needing to be added to the stash. New Look 6333 all cut out and partly assembled. Wrapping paper to be put away. Patterns to be put away. A copy of Women’s Day Complete Book of Handcrafts that my aunt recently donated to me. Instead of doing any of the sorting and tidying I finished sewing Stella’s outfit, just in time to head back to school for pick-up. Then an information session about school camp, home to read her report (terrific, of course!) and now getting ready to babysit for a friend tonight.
What has been ticked off my list? Not very much! Another day almost gone, but with the knowledge of an evening ahead on the couch in front of the telly, chocolate and crochet in hand. My friend’s kids are good sleepers. And the list will still be there tomorrow.

All sounds familiar. A pile of things that would be nice to do (or not so nice) but not the time. Hope you enjoy your night (?night off) tonight. I have friends with good sleepers too – oh would be nice to have some at my house 🙂
ooh, I made that pattern for Sibella twice! The 2nd time she wouldn’t wear it, I think she was about 3 or 4 🙁
I hope you have a gorgeous night with the hook, the wine & the chocolate too. x
That’s my fave of all the vintage craft books that I own. I even have 2 copies – I already had one but then I spotted another at the oppy one day and couldn’t bear to leave it behind.
Hope you have a lovely evening. I never seem to get throughbehat I plan n a day either.
That was supposed to say through what I plan in a day …..
Goodness, you’re a busy one! Love that pattern—once I figure out how to read one, I’ll add it to my list of things to make for my littles.
I’m loving the look of that little Kimono-look New Look pattern.
(And your Thursday sounds exactly like every one of my Saturdays).
Oh – by the way… I have more of that green wool jersey for you if you want it.
not creative ‘creative’ but definitely the stuff of life.
