Stella’s birthday dress

Most of you know that I make the girls a special dress for Christmas and for their Birthday.  This is the one I made for Stella’s 3rd birthday.  She wore it to her play centre party today.

The fabrics are from Anna Maria Horner’s Garden Party line of quilting cottons.  As you know I do love colour, and this line of fabric really has colour and pattern rioting in abundance!  There is an invisible zip in the back. The seam lines aren’t quite perfectly matched, but they’re only a couple of threads out and I reckon that is quite fine for a 3-year-old’s dress!

The pattern is Vogue 7894, which is copyright 2004 so may well be out of print. I cut a size 2 for Stella. It’s generously sized, and this should fit her for a couple of years! I used the same pattern to make a dress for Clare when she turned four.

There are way too many cute photos of Miss Stella in this dress. She had a marvellous birthday and party, and sang “happy birthday” to herself with great determination. Where did the past three years go to?

Birthday Ooshka

It was Stella’s birthday yesterday.  I made her an Ooshka Babushka.

These are something between a softie and a cushion.

My little princess was very taken with it. She is cuddling it, using it as a pillow, and snuggling up to it.

I also made her a birthday party dress – stay tuned for my next post!

(Also, thanks to the people who left me such beautiful comments on my earlier post.  I wasn’t intending to fish for compliments but many of you left lovely ones – thank you!)
