Vintage crochet Friday #64
Egads, I almost forgot it was Friday! In a few short hours I’ll be out the door (meringues in hand) to meet up with the S.I.T. gals, so here is this week’s fix of vintage crochet.
Once you’ve disregarded the styling, check out those designs! I am SO tempted to make that yellow motif vest (not in yellow) for one of my girls, and the red smock is great! Here it is in more detail:
So, what do you think? In modern yarns and colours, would you be crocheting any of these for your kids? Which ones (crochet items I mean, not kids)?
I love the pullover smock (last page) I think it’s be really cute. Heck, I’d wear it.
Go for it, they’ll find SOMETHING to hate you for when they grow up anyway, you may as well make it easy for them. (joking)
The first one is cute, minus the cherries and that dress.
I love the smock as well – and my girls would wear it!
oh meringues! what lucky SIT gals! I guarantee that you’ll have a fabulous time. wonderfully good. please say hi to everyone from me… and I expect a full report and pictures!
And those meringues were yummy
Here is my two cents! I say maybe to the first one…no no no to the yellow one! I think it might look like a doily! But you are pretty talented so you would probably be able to update it. No to the vest. And funny thing is- I thought the last one would be cute and thought it would be good to make before I read your question! My thoughts on updating would be a darker shade of the same color to do the stripe…and yes sometihng more modern in the color.
You know what that smock reminds me of (don’t panic, it’s a good thing) this little dress. In the right colours it would be really cute.
I’m with Amy though – I kind of fear the yellow vest, but if anyone can make it work it’s you.
/waits for two minutes.
Have you finished it yet? It wouldn’t surprise me ;o)
See the little girl in the very bottom? (Blonde bobbed hair)
She went to kinder with my brother. She’d be 44 now.
love the red smock, it would look gorgeous, give it a go 🙂
