As you probably know, I do a little test sewing now and then. Late last year I tested a pattern for the delightful Linda of Craft Apple. The pattern has just been released, so I present to you my version of The Knotted Bag.
I made this in a cotton/linen type of fabric that wrinkled terribly, unfortunately. The contrast insert and bow is from the Mingle by Monaluna collection for Robert Kaufman. And I can’t remember what the lining stripe is, unfortunately (I wish I had more of it).
There’s a magnetic snap to close the bag, and an exterior pocket on the back that also closes with a magnetic snap. Inside the bag are some more pockets.
And guess what – we gave this one away! It was Clare’s thank-you present to her lovely teacher Carrie last year. I had difficulty parting with it – it’s a good thing I’ve got another one cut out in the larger size all ready to sew! You can buy a copy of the pattern here.
Thank you all so much for the beautiful comments you left me on my last post. Although I haven’t even touched my sewing machine since the weekend I am already planning my next raw edge applique and free motion quilted project, and am trying to figure out how I can incorporate the techniques into garments. I am thrilled that you liked what I’d made, and really appreciate your positive words. Biggest thanks of course go to Kellie for sharing herself and her talents so generously.
