Stella’s sleeveless tulip dress
I think that I may have given a sneak peek at Stella’s sleeveless tulip dress a couple of blog posts earlier! Here is the other version of Nicole Mallalieu’s Tulip dress pattern.
The bodice is fully lined for the sleeveless version. Once again, the pattern is beautifully drafted and the neckline and armholes sit perfectly. Here’s the back:
The fabrics are dressmaking cottons with a bit of stretch that have been lurking in my stash for a considerable time. Stella’s dress is in size 2 and is pretty roomy. I have the same dress in the same fabrics cut out for Clare in a size 6 that will hopefully be sewn together before the end of the week. And here it is in action.
And then I was sprinting down the corridor to catch up with her.
The Tulip dress pattern isn’t quite ready for sale yet – keep an eye on Nikki’s blog and/or website for updates. It shouldn’t be too far away!
I’ve just made one too – your versions look lovely.
I love the fabric combo that you used for yours. Very pretty indeed!
Nice blog revamp too.
That fabric is fantastic as is the dress.
Your new blog layout looks great – very clean!
(don’t go looking at mine right now, I’m half-way through an update and the stylesheet is giving me a headache!
Love the new blog look Lara, and i also love Stella’s blue lipstick !
great colours and gorgeous dress!!!!! and love the new look!

Gorgeous fabric combination. You inspire me to get sewing on a project for my little girl!
Yes – I agree with Jodie – that really is Stella’s shade of blue lipstick….
I’m peddling as fast as I can on the pattern, but there’s a bit of tweaking left to do.
Oh my goodness! Soooo adorable. Each dress you make is cuter than the last.

This is a beautiful dress! Oh, I love it! (I also love Stella’s lipstick. Hehe.)
But I’m finally getting around to commenting on these blocks. (My husband participated in the project, too.) I left my comment on your delicate block at the Quilt Project blog.)
Love a girl who coordinates her lippie with her shoes! The dress is sweet Lara! Great work. 🙂
