Princesses and frogs

Apparently there is a new movie out about the Princess and the Frog – I didn’t know that when I chose this combination of fabrics to make a tunic and skirt for Stella!

The fabrics are by Heather Ross for her Far, Far Away collection. They are double gauze, which I haven’t sewn before. It was delightful for children’s clothing. Not so sure how it would go for quilting, but it’s lovely and soft and would definitely be beautiful to snuggle under.

The pattern is the Oliver + S Swingset Tunic and Skirt. I have the size 2 – 5 version of this pattern, so Stella’s outfit in size 2 is a little on the large size. But it’s cute and she did agree to model it – sort of!

Once again I used the overlocker to do a rolled hem on the skirt and tunic, and to sew the buttons onto the back of the tunic.

I’m betting that by the end of the summer school holidays both my daughters will have been to see the movie.  Back later with Clare’s coordinating outfit!
