Crocheted cushion fronts
These are the granny squares that I started when I was away for the weekend with the girls from my book group. It could be some time before I turn them into the cushions they will eventually become, so I’m showing off the fronts now. Traditional granny squares:
And one made from Tamara’s circle-in-a-square crochet motif pattern.
I joined the motifs as I went along for both cushion fronts (there is a step by step tutorial showing you how to do this on flickr here) and added a couple more rounds of granny squaring on the outside. A very satisfying crochet quick fix – although there were plenty of ends to weave in!
I have to say…although both gorgeous…my favourite is the cream. Stunning work Lara
Beautiful. So beautiful. You are evoking Attic24 colour sense with Thornberry style.
One of these days, we’ll see something crocheted and go “oh, that’s SO Thornberry!!”
Oh my! That is so pretty! I am really loving all the different crochet variations I am seeing in the blogworld! It makes it hard to chose one to start with!
Both just lovely! Your cushions will look wonderful
Crocheted Granny Squares always bring back memories of long ago. Amazing that it has become “fashionable” again today, yet still looks so “vintage”. Looks lovely!
They are both really lovely. I think I am going to try the second ones.
Wow, your cushion fronts look so pretty ! How did you make the backs for the cushions ?
Thanks for your reply. I want to back my cushion with some cotton fabric, not sure how to do that though ! And Jumper back is a good idea, I have seen your’s & Lucy’s jumper backed cushions, they look very pretty.
