Vintage crochet Friday #40
It has come to my attention that when people see old crochet pattern books, they think of me! Janet gave me last week’s wall hanging patterns, Nikki has given me two huge books of vintage crochet patterns, and a week or so ago I received a pattern book in the mail all the way from the USA, courtesy of Denise.
I think that her skirt is quilted! There are a number of gems in this one – thanks Denise!
It’s so hard not to laugh! This one is a classic! I
Now… not even in a different yarn with different styling. Don’t even try to imagine it….
That picture is truly worth the postage from the USA. Thanks Denise! (I think it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a quilted skirt!)
Very popular look in the late ’60’s – early ’70’s: prequilted fabric made into a simple dirndl skirt and a “Victorian” frilly blouse. Brings back some interesting ah, memories…
Nikki — what’s funny is the booklet was part of a bag full of clothes and such at a little thrift store, totaling $4 for everything. So, basically, the booklet was free….it cost about $3 to send it!! Postage is getting way out of hand, but I knew Lara had to have it.
I like that it still has the 35 cent price tag on it…the store, ‘Barkers’, has not been around for years.
Who wouldn’t want a lacy top with a quilted skirt? the top will keep you slimmer looking while the skirt adds the look of 5 pounds to your hips!!
not only did I make myself a prequilted, long jumper back in the seventies, but I still HAVE it. You would not believe the colours!
and another vintage classic “Workbasket” is on its way across the water somewhere. LOL
