Morning tea with crafty bloggers
You’ve probably already read about the morning tea that Nikki hosted on Friday morning. Nevertheless, now it’s my turn to rave about what a lovely time I had.
Masses of crafty bloggers and some of their offspring descended upon Nikki’s studio, all bearing loaded plates of delicious offerings.
Even though I’d met many of these wonderful women before, it was a good thing that we all had name tags with our blog names on them as well as our real names!
Nikki had set up a huge craft table for the kids which kept Stella occupied when she wasn’t busy throwing meringues away in favour of brightly iced cup cakes.
Many of the women attending have businesses where they sell the results of their crafty endeavours. Craft takes on a whole different context when money is involved, not surprisingly. As most of you know, I sew and craft purely for my own satisfaction – I don’t sell anything. So my input into discussions of markets, business, what sells etc was entirely from the consumer’s perspective! It was all very interesting.
Have I already mentioned that Nikki is definitely the hostess with the mostess?
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful morning! Attendees included (list unashamedly stolen from Nikki’s blog):
I love how these pictures sum up Melbourne women of a certain age and bent – groovey, crafty types who were teenagers in the 80s and 90s all dressed in black with an air of henna floating about the room 😉
Looks like everyone had a smashing time and I am consumed by jealousy.
Thanks for coming. Thanks for the meringues. Thanks for POSTING this!! Your photos are amazingly good – especially considering our conversation about our cameras. Mine were all awash with hazy, blinding light.

Sorry… forgot to say great post – can’t wait to read your next one!
Most excellent to meet to put your face to your name on Friday! How on earth you managed to get some decent shots, while small person supervising and nattering is beyond me.
Oh Dear, I think all my photos were of the food !
It was really great fun to catch up with people i know and also to put the faces and names of new people together . I had a great time and stella just kills me – she is a crack up!
Had a wonderful time chatting with you again, Lara. You have summed the day up well. Thanks for all your tips on blog posting too – you will be happy to know that I have already done as you suggested.
Must say I love Trashalou’s comment about being a teenager in the 80’s & 90’s! I am more than happy to be grouped with such gorgeous girls considering my teenage years were the earlier 80’s!!!
Great photos too.
you know I am just totally jealous!
sigh, but being australian was not meant to be…I just found out that my grandfather and his friend flipped a coin to determine Canada or Australia. Canada came out on top, then he stettled in Washington state.
It was a perfect way to spend Friday morning Lara… and as you said, so great to put real faces to bloggy names!
What a wonderful bunch of people. You all make my heart sing
I don’t feel like I caught up with you at all, but it was lovely to see you, and it was a great morning tea.
I’ll have to make more effort to chat to you at dinner in a couple of weeks.
Looks like great fun! What can be better than a crafty girls get-together!
Thankyou for posting the pics and it was great to meet you! I have added you to my blog!
Looks like lots of fun!
So nice to catch up with you and learn how you manage to look so efficient in blogland – I still haven’t managed a post. What an amazing and lovely picture of Nicole!
