Snatching time
One of the lovely things about going to workshops in the city instead of going to the office is snatching a little time. A little time to walk slowly from Flinders St Station into Cleggs, checking out the beautiful fabrics – oh Liberty, how I love you but alas you are so expensive – and all that delicious yarn. Then snatching a little time to walk up past Morris and Sons, looking longingly at the yarn on sale there. Then after the workshop, snatching a little time before catching the train home to visit Tessuti‘s new Melbourne store and chat to super helpful and friendly Lisa. And buy a metre of this gorgeous fabric.
Possibly to become an A-line skirt. There were so many lovely fabrics that you just don’t see elsewhere, and terrific service. I think I need to snatch a little time more often! Maybe I can convince my employers to send me to another workshop.
What is it with Melbourne and Liberty? Can’t find ANY in Sydney!
Gorgeous fabric! Would look stunning as a skirt!
Oh, yes, good idea Lara! I’m sure they would if you asked nicely. Love the fabric you purchased too. Try ebay.uk for cheap(er) Liberty fabrics. I did.
Wow that fabric is gorgeous. I think I might need to save some pennies and visit Tessuti!
Beautiful! Looks like you made the most of having to be in the city!
That fabric is really stunning! I haven’t been to Tessuti yet… scared of what might happen if I walk in…
Lovely to meet you this morning, let’s hope I don’t now forget next week.
That fabric is just beautiful! I hope you manage a bit of sewing time this weeked too ..
Oooh, we girls all bunked off work one Friday lunchtime and trooped in to Tessuti. The squeals of delight and howls of ‘you gotta see this!’ tell me it’s going to be a regular. Love that fabric you found!
Hmmmm… Tessuti is calling…. Shame I can’t organise my boss to give me a morning to shop… 😉
I’m the boss and I don’t dare let myself near the fabric shops too often. That would be dangerous.
Looking forward to seeing the skirt!
