Clare’s Sewjourn pinafore
I hoped that I would be able to get Clare to model the pinafore I made her at Sewjourn, but she hasn’t obliged. That’s not to say she hasn’t worn it – to the contrary, she really likes it – but she’s always been otherwise occupied when I’ve wanted to photograph it.
The pattern is Simplicity 3510. I made Clare a summer dress from the same pattern, and it’s translated nicely to a winter pinafore. The fabric was left over from the cape I made a couple of winters ago.
The flower trim was made from selvedge from the same fabric. This was a very satisfying project.
Love the fabric flower and to think it was from selvedge
I love it and i think the selvedge was the perfect thing to use for the brooch.
Oh what a beautiful pinafore! I really like wearing them myself and it looks so nice in the plain pink. I think I must make one too!
that is gorgeous – you’ve done a wonderful job!
Love that selvedge flower – wow – very clever!
That’s so pretty!
Everything you do is so perfectly neat and finished Lara -I am in quiet awe of you.
I love that dress. It is just so cute and the flower looks great on it.
The flower is the perfect finishing touch!
I am super impressed! This is truly beautiful. Love the selvedge flower.
I would totally wear that if it was in my size! I love the texture in the fabric, and the flower finished it off perfectly.
