Sunday Stash #27
Instead of quilting cottons, this week I bring you a selection of stretch fabric, all from Rathdowne Fabrics & Remnants.
There are all sorts of fibres in there, from cotton to lycra to viscose to polyester to wool. Entirely inspired by Nikki and her patternless skirts and tunics. I’ve stocked up on pattern card too to draft out some basic blocks that should fit me in stretch fabrics. Lots of fun ahead with these!
Thanks to Tamara for hosting Sunday Stash!
As soon as I saw the word “stretch” I knew just where you were headed……Go Lara ! Can’t wait to see what eventuates.
I had exactly the same thoughts as Jodie!!!
Catherine and I have been talking about the possibilities of teaching people a few pattern-free tricks – so that sewing day is looking pretty certain. Have a play with a few bits and save a few for a weekend in the near future…
We’re having a go this wednesday night – look forward to seeing what you make.
Stretch fabric … makes me run for the hills! but I do like the brown with the white spots!
When I started sewing many years ago, KnitWit was big in South Africa, so I sewed mostly stretch fabrics. I love working with them! Now KnitWit is no longer in SA, but I see they are in Australia and the UK on postal order only. Sadly they will not ship to SA. Fortunately I have access to many lovely stretch knit fabrics in SA and have stocked up quite a bit for winter sewing, also inspired by what Nikki has been up to! Wish I was there to attend your sewing weekend! But I look forward to see what you get up to.
