While I’m on a roll with crocheted bags, here are a couple of superb examples from 1971:
If only I could work out where to source the bag frames!

Now those are something special. I love them. I’d love to carry one of those around with me.
Hey, I read your comment over at Ric-Rac. Are you off to Sewjourn too? Have a great weekend if you are.
Lacis has some a lot like it at http://www.lacis.com/catalog/data/AE_PurseFramesMetalFrames.html … LV61 looks pretty close, though the measurement sounds like it’d be smaller.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my fabri blog giveaway, good luck.
I adore these crochet bags, arent they divine, I want one.

I Just Love That Fabric
These bags are gorgeous! Must say, I have not seen such large frames before but then, I have not really looked for it. I order most of my frames on Etsy shops based in Thailand or Hong Kong. Their pricing is really good and I have had no complaints regarding quality so far. There are many sites that offer free crochet and knitting patterns on the internet, so I am sure a google search will offer up some help.
ooooh la la, they are good. I especially like the pink one.
My grandmother used to make crochet bags and purses onto frames, I can still remember watching her hook them onto the liitle metal loops… Thought she was rather a vixen for a grandma!!
Have you checked out tallpoppycraft.com – they are an Australian supplier of handbag supplies that have a big range. I love those crochet bags and could totally see myself with one although my mum would laugh at me I think having lived through the 70s already!
What fab bags!
Holy zig-zag, batman, but I love that blue one (or maybe it’s just the hair…)
Wonderful bags!
