New Look 6690 for Stella
By the time this post pops up on your reader we’ll be enjoying the Queenland warmth! I made Stella a dress from the same New Look pattern as Clare’s, except this time I made View B, the halter neck dress.
The main dress fabric is by Heather Ross, covered in cute little orange goldfish. I used a contrasting quilting cotton for the bottom ruffle, facing, and applique.
I made size 1 for Stella, who is about to turn 2 years old. She really loved it – it was a struggle (of toddler proportions) to get it off her again!
Once again, this was super quick and easy to construct – the applique took longer than sewing the side seams and the facing.
My little girls are very pleased with their new frocks!
And another gratuitious photo, because I think they’re such beautiful children.
Just beautiful 🙂 The dress and the girls. Enjoy that Queensland warmth.
Gorgeous! Have a wonderful holiday!
oooh la la, what lucky girls –and you are just too damn quick with that sewing machine!! (cheeky smile here)
I am particularly fond of Stella’s halter dress. How ’bout whipping one up for a 5’9″ size 6 with no boobs, well they are there somewhere I guess. It would fit me like it fits Stella, ‘cept bigger!
Have a great time on your adventure!
Oh wow, that applique is stunning! I’d weat that dress (quite a bit larger).
Have a wonderful holiday.
I love the applique! Such a nice idea.
I especially love that I can see a lot of Lara in Clare and Stella!
ok, i know i almost never comment, because i am one of those horrible people who reads everyone’s blogs on bloglines and never comment. anywhoo.
It’s just crazy how fast Clare is growing… just in the short time I have been following your blog she went from looking like a Little Girl to a Girl!!! if you know what I mean. (of course you do, you’re probably screeching about it inside, like I am about my own DD going from Baby Girl to Little Girl)
What lovely pics! Your girls are adorable, and they are so lucky to have you for a Mum, and that you sew pretty little dresses for them!
Great pictures….hope the dresses get a good work out in Cairns. Your girls are lovely and the dresses inspirational. I love the fishy appliqued one particularly.
