Spooky party

One of Miss Clare’s little friends had a spooky party for his 6th birthday.  Clare decided to go as Bride of Dracula.

Bride of Dracula by you.

She was very excited about getting dressed up – her costume had been ready for days!  She did her own makeup, but declined the offer of some plastic vampire teeth – too uncomfortable.  I made her veil a little while ago from an old curtain and headband, and her cape was made from an op-shop ladies skirt with the back seam unpicked and a neck ribbon added.

Bride of Dracula and intended victim by you.

A potential victim maybe?  The kids had a ball, with all sorts of ghoulish costumes, themed party games and lots of wonderful party food.  A terrific party theme – although a few children were more scared than spooked!

fabric stash, planned projects, Sunday Stash

Sunday Stash #15

One of the many great things about being in Amitie‘s Blog VIP Club is receiving little parcels of fabric goodness in the mail.  Last week these arrived:

IMG_8134 by you.

A mixed pack of fabrics, totalling about 1 metre, and an apron pattern.  There must be something in the air at the moment because that vibrant shade of green seems to be surrounding me (Kirsty has even called it “thornberry green”).  I am planning on making a thornberry green quilt for our bedroom eventually – many of these fabrics will become part of it.

Thanks to Tamara for hosting Sunday Stash!
