While I was whinging about the heat yesterday, I wasn’t really paying much attention to the radio or TV news. It wasn’t until after the kids were in bed that I sat down and realised what was happening.
Victoria was burning. At this stage there are 50 people confirmed dead. The fires are still burning all over the state. Whole towns have been wiped out.
It is simply horrific. I don’t know what to say or do. My heart and prayers go out to all those affected.
February isn’t even into double figures yet and I’ve finished the Afghan blocks! The Ravelry block for February is the Two-tone square. Of course, in Vintage Hues it is more than two tones. Once again, I let the yarn do all the hard work for me.
The Craftster square for February is Center Heart.
This square is also in Vintage Hues. This one was a little trickier. I had to frog the three rows after the heart three times before I got the stitch count correct. I’m happy with the end result.
I’m already wondering how I’ll join the afghan squares this year. What colour, what yarn, etc? At this stage I am considering edging and joining in black wool, using the same joining method as last year.
