Another Melbourne fabric store
Hubby rescued a flyer from our letter box today and rather than putting it straight into the recycle bin he kept it for me, thinking I would be interested. Oh yes, he knows me well!
Quick Response Fabrics – factory direct to public fabrics. Starting at 50c per metre. Open: Thursday 9am-4.30pm, Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Address: 26 Theobald Street, Thornbury (Melway Ref 31 B4). Phone 03 9495 1722. Website www.qrf.com.au
From the website it seems that most of their fabrics are knits. Great for dressmaking! I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve been.
Leah went to check it out. Yep – lots of knits and really cheap. A friend of mine works for a ritzty designer who also uses them as a supplier, so the quality can’t be bad. I dropped in yesterday but saw the opening hours didn’t include Wednesdays…. I plan to go soon.
I would love to know where I can find the pattern for the seashell and posies crochet dress you made.
Oh that looks good – thanks for sharing the link and details. A more appealing way to buy knits than just sending away to Knitwit in WA. I did have a good laugh when I looked at their website. Something tells me their website designer was about 22 – I wonder if it was the presence of all those out-of-context snowboarders flying all over the screen?!
